There was a full-page advertisement in the NYT in May of '68 in opposition to the 110 story WTC. It was paid for by the then owner of the Empire State Building, Lawrence Wien, who had a problem with his real estate being topped. The image was the argument... of a jet-liner flying directly toward the north tower, not far from where flight AA 11 eventually hit.
