Escher Jump Style vs. Microwavable Ass Banditry...

Writing from a hotel in Warszawa. Great gig last night at the Center for Contemporary Art; hometown hero Zbignew Karkowsky (in collaboration with Tetsuo Furudate as Word As Will) also shared the bill. Orphan Fairytale subbed for Joke Lanz, who left the tour four dates early in Berlin owing to fever, exhaustion, and having rocked Berlin far too hard for his own bloody good...

The Center is an amazing venue - it's an old castle, refurbished to include a theatre, cafe, filmworks, and stylish toilets even Larry Craig wouldn't mind using in a more traditional manner... Wicked-ass sound and light system, a proper music venue... We slayed 'em, despite Eva having to bow out a few minutes into the performance (owing to faulty cabling or something)... Now we're all drunk, too happy and exhausted to collapse, watching late-night Polish television and slugging the last droplets of Eva's bottle of Red Label. Tour mania has at last set in.

The previous evening found us plying our meretricious trade at CRK in Wrocław. No sound system, just a pair of no-name amps and a cruddy old microphone. Again, a superior outcome. Took us eighty-nine forevers to find the venue. The first 200 km of road into Poland from Germany are total fucking babyshit, strictly Conestoga wagon style...

Berlin was a mind-fuck of gargantuan proportions. Lots of friends arrived - Daniel Loevenbrucke from OHNE, Rashad Becker from Dubplates & Mastering, Luke and Steven from Birds of Delay, other assorted Brits whose names now fuse into sectors of corrupted memory, etc. The Sudden Infant Trio kicked a wide swath of Venusian and Dystopian ass...

More pix soon!!!

Love,

Tom
